Day Zero Is Here!

And Not Just For Cape Town!

Numerous reports reveal how critical the water situation is in South Africa. According to the experts, if the current usage level persists Cape Town will run out of water around 16 April 2018. On this day all residential taps will be shut off!

When this happens Capetonians will need to queue for their daily allowance of 25L per day at designated water points. It is also doubtful whether retailers will be able to keep up with the demand for bottled water.

But Cape Town is not the only area suffering in South Africa. Many other provinces are also struggling with water shortages. Overall, South Africa is facing year-on-year droughts in almost every province in the country.

Much of these droughts can be traced to the weather phenomenon known as El Niño. The oscillating of warm and cold sea currents that cause wetter than normal conditions in certain areas, and drier than normal conditions in others. Southern Africa has become much drier as a result, causing ongoing droughts in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique, and South Africa.

Although the El Niño phenomenon only happens every few years, global climate change is predicted to affect Southern Africa over the long term. With the addition of increased population growth, water scarcity and droughts will be a problem for the foreseeable future in South Africa. It has been forecast that South Africa will experience severe water stress by 2030. Based on rainfall patterns over the last few years, it may be sooner.

This problem is not going away!

Home Made Water!

What If You Could Make Your Own Water?

With an Atmospheric Water Generator you can.

Air Water Generators are creating a brand-new source of drinking water, and offering a solution for the problems of water shortage, water pollution, and inconvenient access to healthy and safe drinking water for all human beings.

An AWG extracts moisture out of the air, purifies it, and then condenses it into a water tank. It then purifies the water using a 7 step filtration process involving Reverse Osmosis and Ultra Violet light that creates water of the highest quality. Finally it stores the purified water and dispenses it for easy and convenient use.

Principles of Making Air Water

Benefits Of Owning An AWG!

They key benefit of an AWG is that it gives families a way to generate their own potable water at home. All you need to do is plug it in, and it does the rest.

What does this mean?

In addition, it is also more affordable long term and more environmentally friendly compared to buying bottled water. Most importantly, it gives you a way to provide for your families potable water needs, no matter what happens!

How Does An AWG Work?

How Does An AWG Compare?

For those who do not have access to a well point, borehole, or rain water tank, there are only three options for acquiring potable water during times of extreme water scarcity.

  • Water collection: The city will provide 25L per day per person at 200 designated collection points.
  • Bottled Water: You can purchase bottled water from retailers – if they have enough in stock.
  • An AWG: You can produce your own water at home using an Atmospheric Water Generator.
  1. Numerous studies have found significant levels of chemical and bacterial contaminants exceeding those of industry standards, deeming up to 33% of bottled water, “unfit for human consumption.” As Cape Town’s dam levels drop, it becomes more difficult to remove all contaminants from the City’s water supply.
  2. Buying bottled water long term can be very costly. Purchasing 25L daily for 3 months during the emergency period would cost R2250 per person. Although the initial cost is steep, it only costs R1,20 per litre of electricity to produce water using an AWG. This means significant savings long term.

Potable Water Transforms Lives

Every AWG Purchased Supports Those In Need

There are more than 55 Million people living in South Africa. During times of extreme water scarcity the lack of water security affects everyone. A lack of water for daily living will have a huge impact on the lives of many, and could even be life threatening.

That is why we are giving our backers the opportunity to give the gift of liquid life. 1% of every sale will be allocated towards giving water making technologies and water saving tips to less fortunate families and groups.

We call this the Liquid Life Fund.

We are Potable, a team committed to water security in South Africa. Potable was started with a simple vision to help South Africans live sustainably amidst increasing levels of water scarcity.

By harnessing the power of modern technology we want to give South Africans a way to make water in the comfort of their own homes. In addition, we want to show families how they can live effectively with minimal amounts of water. Finally, we want to turn the water crisis on its head by giving citizens a way of actually giving water to others in need.

Make water, save water, give water.

Our products are sourced from one of the top manufacturers of atmospheric water generators in the world. We are confident that these modern machines combined with good water practices will make it easy for families to live sustainably no matter what water situation in South Africa.

Water is life. So be water secure!
